THE DELIGHTFUL WINDOW SYSTEM

I have had the opportunity to use this system as a hardware for a roman shade and love it. (Any fabric soft shade-austrian, balloon, etc. would work). The headrail is the gutter style rail used in two inch wood blinds. It is turned upside down and allows the system pvc rail to slip easily in and out of the headrail. The traditional end brackets for the wood blinds is modified to allow the pvc rail to slip into place. A specialty strong hook velcro is on the headrail to be used to attach the face of the shade. A problem encountered often in installing soft shades-especially wide ones, is to have to hold the weight of the shade and screw it into place all at the same time. This is cumbersome and doesn't make for easy removal either. This system allows you to install the brackets and headrail separately from the shade itself. Then you can slip the PVC rail into place. The PVC rail comes in two different weights to accommodate wider shades. The components can be purchased separately if your client would like a couple of different shades; change out would be simple. The other feature I like about the shade are the toggles used to raise and lower the shade (after all, most cord locks don't really hold after several uses). The toggles (available in several colors) are used to tie off the cords at the bottom of the shade. Now think about it , you have the shade installed, the window itself is not perfectly square and you need to lower one side of the shade. We usually spend considerable time untying the knots (if you can even do it) adjusting, and hoping you can retie just right to level the shade. The toggles allow you to just slip it a little more or a little less and it is done!. Many of you know I do not like to make Roman Shades-I use Castec Shades (800-828-2500) to fabricate mine. The continuous cord hardware is a little pricey; the regular stringing has no cord lock. I am going to convert mine to the Delightful System from now on. Maybe I can even interest
Castec to using the System in the first place.
